Rosalind Franklin was a real person

She was a brilliant scientist who studied physical chemistry. She worked a lot with X-ray machines, which could take photos of things that can’t be seen normally because they’re so small. After working with Crick, Watson and Wilkins to discover the structure of DNA, she started to work on something else.

She died when she was only 37, so never finished her research. Crick, Watson and Wilkins won a Nobel Prize for the work she did with them. Someone who worked with her carried on her other research into viruses and eventually won a Nobel Prize as well. If she had lived, Rosalind Franklin would probably have won 2 Nobel Prizes.

Every time you meet a woman who was a known historical figure, you get a Famous Woman Badge.
