Rosario Sanchez-Mora was a real person!
Rosario fought in the Spanish Civil War. It wasn’t common for women to fight in wars, but Rosario didn’t care! She did have the nickname La Dinamitera and she did lose her hand in an explosion. After Spain stopped women from fighting, she became a post woman and delivered letters to soldiers.
After the war she went to prison. When she got out she worked selling cigarettes on the streets. Only after Franco died, she started talking about her experiences and people realized how brave she had been.
