You’ve received another Famous Woman Badge!

Sophia Duleep Singh was a real person

She was a feminist which means she fought for women to have equal rights with men. She wasn’t the only member of the WSPU, or the only woman or man who fought for women’s rights. The WPSU was led by Emmeline Pankhurst and her daughters. They were arrested many times for their protests.

Lots of women of all sorts wanted to be able to vote, although some women didn’t want to. It took quite a long time to change some peoples’ minds. Quite a lot of men didn’t want women to have the vote because they wanted to make all the decisions themselves!

Every time you meet a woman who was a known historical figure, you get a Famous Woman Badge.
